Monday: I decided to run on the Greenbelt since I only had 3 miles on schedule. (The Greenbelt is still mostly closed repairing the damage from the almost-flood of last spring. Stopped for this view:
I had new running shoes, which always makes a run a little more fun. I wear the Brooks Ghosts: these are my 4th pair:
Finished with 3 miles at 9:49/mile pace.
Tuesday: Leg workout after class. I was definitely feeling it. Sadly, my post-workout selfies all turned out pretty bad (I’m going to blame my eye infection) but I snapped one selfie before pouring myself into bed. Tuesdays are long days.
Wednesday: Speed workout! 1 mile w/u, 2 miles of 2 minutes hard, 2 minutes easy, and 1 mile c/d. I love a good speed workout.
Ended up with 4 miles at 9:22/mile average pace.
Thursday: I had an insanely productive day because one of my professors was traveling so class was cancelled. I finished it off with a killer push-pull workout from MBB Home.
Friday: Up early to knock out a core workout and my eye had finally cleared up enough for me to wear my contacts all day!
After class, I went and had lunch with a friend. I also had to run by Winco to pick up more oatmeal. During that time, it snowed twice but didn’t stick and the wind was cold. I was dreading my run. Then, by the time I got home, the sun was shining and I ran without a jacket. Welcome to March.
Matt and I watched a movie and I went to bed at a somewhat reasonable hour.
Saturday: Up at 7:40 for my 9 mile run. It was one of those runs that felt easy from start to finish. Even going up the hills, I felt strong. I definitely felt like I could have kept going, which is good for Week 4 of marathon training!
Minnie and I cuddled while Obi and Matt slept in:
Then I ran some errands with my mom at Target. After that, Matt and I went to see Darkest Hour since he hadn’t seen it yet. So good. I can’t recommend it enough. We picked up Chipotle for dinner and both ended up in bed by 10:00 p.m. We know how to party on a Saturday night.
Sunday: Rest day! It’s been a long time since I took a day completely off but I’m glad I did today. I knocked out the draft of my argument for this upcoming brief, got my Contracts homework done, finished the laundry, and took care of some housekeeping stuff. And it’s not even 2:00 pm so Matt and I are gonna go for a walk. Then tonight we’re going over to his parents’ house to watch the Oscars.
And of course, we’re cuddling the cats:
This week is going to be a busy one. I have a midterm for Constitutional Law and a Contracts quiz later in the week, plus a doctor’s appointment and the usual homework and reading. But then it’s spring break!
Until the next time, beautiful humans,
