What a week. Outside of running, it was consumed with writing and rewriting my appellate brief. That’s the big paper all first year law students write and it is (thankfully) due tomorrow.
Monday: 3 easy miles. It was sunny but still windy enough for me to be glad I had long sleeves.
Tuesday: Up at 5:00 am because I knew it was the only time I could get it done with everything else on my to-do list. My Best Body Home Week 8 legs and boy was I glad I did it early.
Wednesday: Tempo run: 1 mile warm up, 4 miles at 9:00/mile, 1 mile cool down. In shorts! And I didn’t get even the slightest bit sunburned!
I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the sun but I think Minnie’s method was probably more relaxing:
Thursday: Up at 5:00 am again. Knocked out My Best Body Home Week 8 Push and Pull. This workout left me feeling very strong and ready to have a very productive day. Which I think I did.
Friday: Matt had the day off so I headed to the gym alone to knock out Week 8’s core workout. These workouts are honestly the hardest from this guide and I definitely feel it’s the area where I’ve made the least progress since the first round I did.
After class, I hung out at my parents’ house to keep Bella company. My mom was travelling and Bella had been left with my dad. She laid out on the deck watching squirrels while I worked on my brief. Then we went for a nice and easy 4 mile run. It actually felt kind of hot outside even though it was only in the low sixties. Spring’s coming.
Saturday: It was already in the forties when I started, which called for shorts. And I am so proud of myself that I remembered to put on Body Glide to prevent chafing. It’s the little victories. All in all, this run was average. I could feel the stress of the week in the heaviness of my legs so I just focused on keeping my mental game up and putting one foot in front of the other. 13.1 miles at 9:54/mile pace.
After that, I worked on my brief. And worked on it some more. I tried to take a nap but Obi meowed incessantly at something outside so after half an hour I gave up and then worked on my brief. Again.
Sunday: Hopefully going to finish my appellate brief and spend the evening doing the technical edits. Laundry and grocery shopping are also on the to-do list. But it’s a rest day because my body is tired and my mind is tired and I have too much else to do.
Until next week,
